Joselin Estefania's story

The Credit Group Mujeres Unidas gets together every other week in Abdón Calderón neighborhood, in the city of Manta, which is known for its beautiful beaches that have many visitors all year round, and for being a beautiful city with many tourist attractions. This is where Joselin lives, a 22-year old woman who lives with her partner and has a 3-year old son. Her partner works in a State institution.

Joselin sells clothes, shoes and catalog products from Avon, Yanbal and Belcorp (beauty products, cosmetics, perfumes and women accessories) with an aim to earn her own income and help her partner support their household expenses. She sells door to door and works every day in the morning, when her mother is taking care of the little one. She sells on credit and gets paid every week or two weeks, depending on her clients' preferences. She has worked in this business for over 3 years and things are going well. Her top selling products are cosmetics and perfumes.

She will use the loan to buy clothes, shoes, perfumes, costume jewelry, cosmetics and lotions. She has been with the credit group for 4 years and she appreciates the support the institution offers. She currently lives in a rented house and her dream is to have her own.
