A loan of $1,000 helped to buy trousers, blouses, T-shirts, children's clothing, and shoes.

Rosa Angelica's story

The Communal Bank "Mujeres Unidas" (United Women) meets every 15 days in the neighborhood of Abdón Calderón in the city of Manta. This city is well-known for its beautiful beaches that are frequented throughout the year. It is also a city that is unequaled in its beauty and has many tourists attractions.

Sra. Rosa lives in this place. She is 43 years old, in a common-law relationship, and has four children. Two of her children are grown and the other two (ages 13 and 6) are in school. Her husband is an electrician.

In order to have an income by which to pay her expenses and those of her household, Rosa sells clothing and shoes. She works three to four days a week by going door-to-door. Rosa takes advantage of the morning hours since it is easier to make her trips around this time. She has been in this business for six months and it has given her an income of her own.

This loan will be used to buy more merchandise such as trousers, blouses, T-shirts, children's clothing, and shoes since she has several orders this month. Rosa has been with the Communal Bank for more than four years and she enjoys being a member because of what she has gained. Her dream is to provide the best for her children.
