A loan of $875 helped to buy food items and Avon products.

Elvia Cecilia Eloisa's story

Every fifteen days, the borrowing group "Las Divas de Tosagua" meets in the city of Tosagua. This place is known for being very dynamic, and the majority of its citizens make a living in agriculture and in raising livestock; it is an area of lush vegetation.

Elvia lives here. She is fifty-four years old and is separated. She has one son from this previous relationship; he is older and lives with her.

In order to get herself ahead and to ensure that her son is never in want of anything, Elvia opened a small store in her home many years ago. She stocked this small grocery store with food items and also with Avon and Yanbal products (beauty products, cosmetics, perfumes, and women's accessories). Because she wanted to continue improving her life, she bought a moto-taxi with her profits. Her son drives the taxi. In doing this, he makes a living for himself and Elvia is able to have a bit of extra income, which helps them both move forward.

Elvia is going to use this loan to stock her store. She will buy food items and Avon and Yanbal products. She has been involved with the communal bank for four years, and she likes the help and support that group members offer to one another. Her goals are to continue improving her business.
