A loan of $2,100 helped to buy supplies in bulk (wood and paint, among others).

María Nelly's story

María is a 63-year-old woman. She is known for her persistence and her spirit. In spite of her challenges, she always keeps her head high and keeps going, motivated by her love for her child. She has been the head of her household for a number of years, ever since her husband left.

She works in her own business, a woodworking shop that she began as an endeavor to make money. It allowed her to get her son ahead and take care of the basic needs of their household. In the workshop she makes all types of wooden furniture, especially kitchen cabinetry. She has the help of her son and an employee who works seasonally. Her work schedule is from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m. from Monday through Saturday.

She will invest the loan she is requesting in the wholesale purchase of materials (wood and paints, among others). This will allow her to finish the orders that have already been made, as well as to have enough available to get bigger orders, which will generate a bigger profit.

With her perseverance and positive attitude when facing life, María wants to keep fighting to reach her goals. She dreams of her business having continuity and permanence, and of attracting new customers. Then she will be able to improve the quality of life and well-being of her immediate family.
