A loan of $4,000 helped to begin selling cooking gas packages to her community to pay for her children's school fees.

Faridah's story

Faridah is a 38 year old widow with four children. Faridah's husband passed away, and since then she has been trying out different businesses to support her family. Once she heard about WANA, she felt it was a profitable business idea and she saw its potential to grow. Her children's school fees had become an unbearable cost, especially for her two children in secondary school, and she was worried that she couldn't send the children to school any longer.

Faridah has dedicated her time and resources to this business, and she now knows that her children will succeed at school. Currently Faridah rents her home, and does not have any capital which would have ever supported her to access a loan from other financing options. She is grateful that she has been able to access a Kiva loan without needing collateral, and now knows that there is no limit to her children's education.
