Medeid is the group coordinator for 'Effort de Catier Morin'. He is married and has two children. Medeid lives in the north of Haïti where electricity is rare and drinking water is very scarce.

Medeid is a craftsman and buys and sells beef and goatskins. He started his business directly after finishing school. He will use his loan to buy meat for resale.

The other members of the group will use their loans to support their businesses, such as selling cosmetic products, fizzy drinks, etc.

Medeid says that his aim is to become a big trader in the north of Haïti. He would like to run a large business and build a grocery shop with the help of the field partner, Esperanza Int.

Medeid est le coordinateur de son groupe Effort de Catier Morin. Il est marié, Il a 2 enfants. Il habite dans la région nord d`Haïti ou de électricité est rare et de l’eau portable est très limitee.

Medeid pratiquait l'artisanat d'où il achete et revend boeuf et de cabrit. Avant de ce commercer ce commerce Il était un écolier. Il plan à acheter de l'artisanat et de la viande pour la revente.

Des autres membres de EFFORT DE CATIER MORIN ont besoin d’un emprunt pour le commerce tel ques ventes produits de cosmétiques, boissons gazeuses etc. Il déclare que son défi principal est de devenir un grand commerçant dans le département du nord. Il dit son but principal c’est d’avoir un grand commerce qui lui facilitera a construire une grande epicerie avec l’aide d'Esperanza Int.

This loan is designed for a borrower or group of borrowers in Haiti. Esperanza is one of the few MFIs currently working in the northeast region of the country. Through lending, the organization aims to stimulate economic growth and opportunity in a country that has suffered debilitating crises, including political instability, natural disasters and poverty. Esperanza lends primarily to groups of women who cross-guarantee each other's loans. They also receive financial literacy courses and health services.

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.
