Aby's Group's story

This group is composed of women with great determination when it comes to their profit-generating activities. They have a long experience with the “banc villageois” (lending organization) program, and have shown a solidary mindset allowing them to face many situations. This group is one of the best in this region. Their main activity is retail. Madame Aby (sitting on the right) is the representative of the group. She is 56 years old, married, and a mother of seven—four boys and three girls. She is very committed to the group’s activities. She sells locally-manufactured shoes, and also makes sheets and bracelets. With this loan, she is planning on strengthening her retail business by purchasing wholesale: - Men and women’s shoes - Fabrics to make sheets and various threads - With the remainder, various accessories sold by the dozen, to be retailed individually. Profits from her activity will allow her to strengthen her business; she is also planning to purchase a fridge.

In this group: Aby, Kadiatou, Oumou, Ramatoulaye, Mareme, Binta, Fatou Alphousseyni, Monique, Aminata
