A loan of $650 helped to buy spare parts for refrigerators.

Mamadou's story

Born around 1966 in Bougouni, Mamadou is a married man and father of five children. He lives in his father's home in the Medine district of Bougouni.

Mamadou is a refrigeration expert by trade. Wishing to expand the scope of his business, he decided to add on the purchase and resale of spare parts for refrigerators about 10 years ago. He has a good reputation in this business and gets lots of orders, especially when the hot season is approaching, for this is the moment when those who own refrigerators have a lot of problems.

Thus, Mamadou decided to join the Soro Yiriwaso program with which he is presently on his first individual loan. He intends to use this loan to buy five bottles of gas of 12 kilograms each and 20 fans. He will resell them in his workshop to a clientele composed mainly of heads of family who have one or more freezers as well as to his local colleagues in the cooling business.

Based on this loan, Mamadou expects to make a monthly profit of 65,000 F CFA which will be used essentially to share in covering family expenses and pay the interest on his loan, investing any remainder in his activity.
