A loan of $1,300 helped to carry out renovations.

Luz Nancy's story

Luz is a dynamic and charismatic woman. She is 36 years old and has four children that she provides for through a lot of effort and dedication. When she found herself pregnant with her first child, she made the decision to work in order to earn her own income and help her husband with household expenses. She started a daycare where she looks after children from the ICBF [Colombian Institute for Family Welfare] and this has allowed her to earn a living without neglecting her family. She has generated a decent income during the 18 years she has run this business.

Luz plans to use the loan to carry out some renovations to ensure the continued well-being of the children in her care. She states that besides the fact that this work generates income to support her family, she likes it due to its benefit to society; she is involved in the lives of the children that she cares for, providing them with love and attention that they sometimes don't receive in their own homes. This fills her with life and allows her to continue pushing ahead tirelessly and providing her children with a better quality of life, as well as instilling values in them so that they will be good people.
