A loan of $1,200 helped to increase her stock of groceries and vegetables to sell.

Phath's story

Phath S., 33, is a true entrepreneur and resides with her little child in Kampong Cham, Cambodia. Since 2005, she has had a business selling groceries and many kinds of vegetables to earn a living. She is able to make around US$5 in profit each day. In her village, there are many vendors who operate the same type of business as hers, so she needs to diversify her products to satisfy her customers. Currently, she is requesting a loan from Kiva via Credit, Kiva’s Field Partner, to increase her inventory of groceries and vegetables. In the future, she plans to breed pigs for extra profit to support the family. (Phath's mother is pictured because she was not available.)
