A loan of $4,875 helped a member to buy a good stock of food to meet her customers' demands.


Kissanga Group's story

Salma, who is in her early 30's, is a divorcee with three children who are still in school. She has been a food-vendor for two years now. She works from 06am to 10pm daily and is able to make a good monthly profit.

This will be Salma's third loan from Tujijenge Tanzania. She used the previous loans to buy the out of stock items in the food store and has paid back all her loans successfully. She is doing great with the loan. She used the profit to pay school fees, bought iron sheets and started building her own house. She will use this loan to buy a good stock of food to meet her customers' demands. She dreams of owing a hotel.

Salma will share this loan with her loan loan group "KISSANGA" with twelve members who will hold each other accountable for paying back the loan.
