A loan of $3,275 helped a member to buy fodder.

Renacer Group's story

The "Renacer" [Rebirth] Village Bank will start its second cycle with Pro Mujer, as part of the Focal Center of Copacabana. It is made of up eight members and is directed by a board where Sonia is the president. The business that the members of the communal bank have is the sale of milk, which they sell to distribution businesses. The loan that they will take out will benefit the small microenterprise owners where Sonia is a member. She says that one year ago Pro Mujer became involved, beginning by invitation of a promoter of the institution that went to visit her in her house. Currently, she has a business selling milk; she notes that she started this business by her own initiative upon observing the business opportunity of purchasing a cow, with which she started her business. The loan that she will now take out is for the increase of capital (purchase of fodder) that she will acquire from the communities of the department of La Paz. After the raising of her animals, she will sell. This form of work allows her to generate resources to support her family, since she lives in a free union and has three children. When asked what she likes about Pro Mujer, she responds that she likes the savings that the institution offers.
