A loan of $1,150 helped to invest in buying more animals and some plants, allowing her to improve her income.

Maria Magdalena's story

María was born in Latacunga, which belongs to the parish of La Matriz, in the province of Cotopaxi, Republic of Ecuador. She is 43 years old and married to Marco, age 41. She has five children, and they all live together in the family's own house in the city of Latacunga, in the parish of Tanicuchí, a sector highly recognized for its agriculture and dairy production. The neighborhood is called Santa Ana Alto, and they have lived there for 18 years, since with great sacrifice and effort they succeeded in building their house. Because of the lack of economic resources at the beginning, María had to look for a way to help her husband cover the expenses. For this reason she works raising and selling small animals. María has shown herself to be a hard-working and enterprising woman. With the effort and sacrifice of her parents, she was able to finish secondary school. She is requesting this loan to invest in buying more animals and some plants. This will help her improve her income. María would like to extend her sincere appreciation and congratulations to the Alternativa Foundation in Ecuador and to Kiva for making possible this growth in her personal and professional life.
