Anith's story

Anith is 41 years old. She is divorced and lives in her own house together with her 16-year-old son, to whom she wants to give a good education and a better quality of life. Anith's work is designing, making and selling clothing for ladies, gentlemen and children. She carries out this activity in a shop located within her own house. She has operated this business for 12 years. She comments that she started this work because of the need to generate income to cover her son's educational expenses. She does this economic activity together with some friends, to whom she contracts out work whenever she has large numbers of orders.

She considers her work profitable because companies solicit her services in order to make uniforms for their workers. She also has contracts with the various schools of the city. Before starting this business, she did not have the capital to buy the necessary equipment. On this occasion, she is requesting S/.1000. She wants to keep being punctual with her loan payments, because it is going very well for her. In addition, her group motivates her to keep going with her business. She will invest the funds in buying supplies such as fabrics, lace, elastic, and thread, in order to keep designing and producing clothing.
