Gulshaiyr's story

Gulshaiyr is 42 years old, married, and, together with her spouse, is raising 5 children. Her eldest son is working in Russia, her daughter is married, and the rest of her children are school-aged. Gulshaiyr has a secondary education, and works in a bakery, from which she receives a monthly income. Gulshaiyr's work in farming, which began 24 years ago with 3000 KGS, serves as a source of additional income for her family. Thanks to Gulshaiyr's hard work, she now has 0.67 hectares of land, on which she plants cotton yearly. Her monthly income is 13,000 KGS. With the goal of increasing her family's economy, Gulshaiyr turned to the microfinance bank "Bai-Tushum and Partners" for a loan to purchase seeds, fertilizers, and pesticides. With the increased income from the loan, Gulshaiyr plans to invest in the building of stables for cattle, and then purchase livestock for breeding.
