A loan of $725 helped a member to purchase peanuts.

Badeya Group's story

The group BADEYA is composed exclusively of married women, who average 31 years of age and four children each. They live in traditional extended families in the village of FIYELE, Commune de Wacoro, Préfecture de Dioila, Région de Koulikoro (2nd administrative region of the Republic of Mali). The women know one another through ties of kinship, community, and friendship. They do commerce in condiments, grains, peanuts, and small animals. The women of the group BADEYA are on their second solidarity loan, which will be used to purchase the different items cited above.

This client, Kadiatou, who is sitting second from the right, is a vendor of peanuts. She intends to purchase 3 sacks of peanuts from wholesalers. The peanuts will be sold retail to a mixed customer base at the market and also at the house. She is counting on making a monthly profit of 20,000 francs CFA that will be invested in raising livestock.
