A loan of $1,100 helped a member buy honey.

Kotognontala Group's story

The Kotognontala group is comprised of married women who, on average, are 34 years old and have three children. They all live in traditional families in the city of Dioila (Dioila prefecture, Koulikoro region, second administrative region of Mali).

They know one another through relatives, neighbors, and friendship. They are in the food industry and sell fruits and vegetables. This is the second group loan for the women of the Kotognontala group.

The client, Rokia, the person standing in the center of the back row, sells honey. She buys her supplies from honey producers from neighboring villages. She would like to buy 40 liters of raw honey. It will then be sold to clients for cash at retail prices.

She would like to earn a monthly profit of 30,000 FCFA. This profit will be put back into her business.

In this group: Karidiatou, Asetou, Rokia, Moussokoura, Tata, Awa, Moussodie
