Asia's Group
In this Group: Asia, Zarina, Jamila, Rehana
Asia is a 25-year-old, married woman. She lives with her husband and son, in the area of Lahore, Pakistan. Her husband is providing transportation services for passengers, in his auto rickshaw. Her husband has been doing this work since about three years ago. To carry out his work, he gets up very early, because he has to look for passengers on the streets of his city. He has been driving by day and by night. This is the reason the rickshaw has experienced serious depreciation, due to his continuous driving.

Due to a lack of cash in hand, Asia requested a loan. With the loan funds, her husband will buy spare parts for the vehicle, such as headlights, bolts, tyres, tubes, and the like.

Now her husband feels tranquil and comfortable, because he has assurance of a regular income and more free time. This will be Asia's third loan with Kiva; she hopes that, with your cooperation, her husband will be able to carry out his plans. She promises to make the loan payments on time.
Note: Asia raises her hand in the picture.

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
