A loan of $300 helped to purchase more palm oil and gari, to expand her business.

Hawa's story

Greetings from Sierra Leone! This is 37-year-old Hawa, from Waterloo2, a western, rural area in Freetown. She is married, with four children. Her children are currently attending school.

Hawa runs a local food business. She sells pepper, palm oil, and gari for resale. She has been running this business for ten years. She works at the business from 9:00am until 4:00pm, six days per week. Hawa says that her business is doing well because, out of the profit, she is able to take care of the family.

Hawa has requested a loan in order to purchase more palm oil and gari, to expand her business. The extra income from this loan will allow her to educate her children and repay her loan.

In the future, Hawa plans to open a big food store. She thanks you for your support!
