A loan of $250 helped to purchase more gallons of palm oil for resale.

Fatmata's story

Meet 24-year-old Fatmata from Waterloo2, western rural area, in Freetown in Sierra Leone. She is single with one child.

In 2003, Fatmata established her palm oil business. She began her business because she did not go to school, so she was trained in business. She works at the business from 8:00 a.m. until 5:30 p.m., six days per week. She says that the main challenges to her business are price inflation and proper business location.

Fatmata requires a loan in order to purchase more gallons of palm oil. She hopes that the extra income from this loan will allow her to change her status of living and increase her business.

In the future, Fatmata plans to change her business to a provision shop. She thanks you for your support.
