Sasah's story

Sasah, age 36, runs a beauty salon business to earn an income. She lives and works in Wara Wara, a northern area in Sierra Leone. She began her business in 2000 while still a student in order to develop herself and help her family. She has two children. Sasah's hair-dressing salon supplies her only source of income. She says that her business is doing well, and she is able to use her profits to support her family's living expenses. Sasah has requested this loan through BRAC Sierra Leone in order to purchase hair relaxer, hair cream, and weaves for her salon. She tells us that the extra income from this loan will help her to improve her standard of living and increase her business. In the future, she would like to expand her business more than ever.
