Lely's story

As well as being friendly and polite, fifty-one-year-old Lely is a hard-working and determined woman. She is married to a dental technician, Elias, with whom she lives alongside their daughter (18 years old) and two grandchildren. The family lives together comfortably in a house that they own.

Lely has a business making women's, men's and children's clothes. The clothes are of all styles, according to customers' orders. Lely started her business when she bought a sewing machine with a loan she received from this same organisation. Lely has a modest workshop in her home where she tends to all her customers in a friendly and polite manner. Customers leave satisfied with the good work that Lely does.

Lely studied dressmaking at a practical training college and, through this, she decided to start this business. That was ten years ago and now Lely has three sewing machines. Lely works with her daughter who also enjoys this work. Lely likes her business as it allows her demonstrate her creativity in each clothing item. She also likes that the financial income she makes from her work as, with it, she can support her husband with household costs. Given that her customers like her work and given the income it provides her, Lely wishes to continue with this business. On this occasion she is applying for 3000 Nuevo Soles and hopes to have your help so that she can realise her business plan.
