A loan of $1,225 helped a member to buy clothes, perfumes, and incense to resell.

Al-Samia Group's story

Al-Samia is a four-member group from Aden, Yemen. All the members are women.

Samia, 34, is the mother of three children. Two of them are enrolled in public schools. Ten years ago, Samia decided to help her husband. Her husband works very hard and does his best to provide his family with food and clothes, but, unfortunately, the money he makes is really not enough.

So, Samia started going door-to-door, selling cosmetics and clothes. She intends to expand her business. Therefore, she asked for a loan of 50,000 Yemen Rial (YER) to buy clothes, perfumes, and incense to resell. She hopes that she will make profits from buying a lot of products and selling them to new clients in different quarters and places in her city.
