Sanniquellie, Liberia / Food Market

A loan of $250 helped to purchase more oil, pepper, and salt for her business.

Koo's story

Please meet 41-year-old Koo, who lives in Sanniquille, the capital city of Nimba County. Nimba County is rich in natural resources, and the living conditions are much better than the capital city of Liberia. Nimba County is the second-largest populated county in Liberia.

She did not go to school, but she manages her business well. She has lived all her life in a rural area. She is married, and her husband is not working. They have five children between the ages of 8 to 23 years. Only two are in school, and they all live at home.

For six years now, she has been running a table where she sells oil, pepper, and salt in the local market. She spends eight hours each day on her business. She is requesting a loan to purchase more oil, pepper, and salt for her business.

Her plan is to build a modern house.
