Hawa M's story

Meet 43-year-old Hawa from Magburaka, Makeni Northern area, in Sierra Leone. She is married with five children.

In 2004, Hawa established her retail business. She began her business because she wants to create a means of survival. She works at the business from 8:00 a.m. until 5:30 p.m., six days per week. She says that the main challenges to her business are price inflation and a transportation problem.

Hawa requires a loan in order to purchase cigarettes, drinks and soap to expand her business. She hopes that the extra income from this loan will allow her to change her status of living and increase her business.

In the future, Hawa plans to open a big provision store. She thanks you for your support.
