Estela Maria's story

Estela, 48, is the single mother of a minor child. She's from León, located in the western part of the country. She's known for being hardworking and responsible, and she wants to get ahead. Currently she strives every day to give her daughter a better future. Unfortunately she wasn't able to study for a career and she had to work from a young age to help with the household expenses. Thanks to her effort and her desire to get ahead, Estela works selling a variety of merchandise such as pants, dresses, skirts, shorts, blouses, and pajamas. The business is located in her home and she sells her products about 10 hours a day. The goal of Estela's loan is to invest in working capital by buying and selling merchandise so she can earn a better income in the near future. She's grateful for the help that Kiva lenders give to low-income people and poor countries like Nicaragua so they have the means to decent work.
