A loan of $200 helped to buy corn, firewood, and propane gas.

Maria Margoth's story

María is a 67-year-old woman who sells tortillas for a living. She has three children who now have their own families. Five years ago she started her business selling tortillas because she needed more income to cover her personal expenses. She works Monday through Sunday and one of her daughters helps her with her business.

With this capital she will buy corn, firewood, and propane gas, which will help her build up her inventory so she will have more and better output. She hopes to increase her clientele as well as her profits, which she will use to make her loan payments.

She dreams of having a more profitable business and improving her quality of life.
