A loan of $325 helped to pay for grocery items, products and beverages needed in her business.

Emelia's story

Emelia is thankful for the financial assistance extended to her, as she was able to buy more grocery items for her variety store. Her loan is also helpful in the education of her children. Her income from business, on the other hand, is assisting with their everyday expenses at home. She and her husband are working hard to provide for their everyday needs.

She would like to apply for another loan, this time for 14,000 PHP, to buy groceries, toiletries, beverages and other products to add to her inventory. The more items displayed at the store, the better. More items to sell will result in better profit. Her profits from business will definitely help sustain her family’s daily needs and children’s education expenses. She looks forward to this financial increase with gladness and thankfulness in her heart.

Emelia dreams that her business will be more flourishing and hopes to have a better living. She meets every week with her co-fellowship* members to share stories of her work and draw strength and inspiration from the Word of God she studies.

* All CCT community partners/clients are organized into fellowship groups composed of 15 to 30 community partners. The fellowship groups gather each week to study the Word of God, build social capital and repay microfinance loans.
