A loan of $775 helped to buy wholesale materials (fabric, buttons, thread, accessories, zippers, amongst others).

María Alix's story

Maria, at 35 years old, is the single mother of a teenage son who has gotten ahead with great effort and dedication.

She is a strong and hardworking woman, always looking for opportunities that will enable her to get ahead, in spite of all the adversities that life has imposed upon her.

Currently she works in dressmaking, a trade that she learnt from a friend and through various training courses that she has attended. This is how she has made a living to be able to support and educate her son, who has become the driving force of her life.

She sews all types of clothing that her clients request, and on some occasions, she does assembly work for several companies which request her services.

With the aim of strengthening her business, she is asking for a loan to be able to buy wholesale materials (fabric, buttons, thread, accessories, zippers, etc.). This will enable her to offer more variety to her customers and thus improve her production and profit margins for each sale.

Maria’s intends to expand her business in the medium term, to be able to make opportunities for employment and to improve the quality of life and wellbeing of her son.
