A loan of $675 helped to buy large quantities of coffee, cacao and corn.

Julia's story

Julia, a member of the communal banl "Judith Tuanama", lives in the region and province of El Dorada, in the San José de Sisa district. She works selling grains and beans such as corn, coffee and cacao. She has been workiing in this business for some time now, and the business is going well for her. Her business is located in her home at 230 Jr. Bolognesi. The local wholesalers who are her clients come daily to that location to buy from her.

With this loan for 2000 Peruvian soles, which she will repay in 6 monthly payments, she will buy cacao, corn and coffee in large quantities from the producers, in order to later sell it to the wholesalers and other bulk buyers of these products who come to her town from Tarapoto to buy. She wants to have the business well stocked and to take advantage of the good harvest in her local area.

Julia is 35 years old and lives with her husband and children. Her husband helps her in the business. Her goal is to continue with the business and to one day be a wholesaler with her own warehouse.
