A loan of $900 helped to buy bags of flour and merchandise for the Christmas period.

Juana's story

Juana is a very hardworking woman, she is a mother to three children who are adults and who she has managed to help get ahead in life with the support of her husband as they have always instilled in them that through work and sacrifice anything can be achieved. Juana's home is located in the city of Camaná, a city which is characterized by agriculture, and in particular the cultivation of rice, Lima beans, corn and so on. Fishing is also carried out in the area and above all there is a wide variety of typical foods among which there is the delicious dish of "Chupe de Camarones" [prawn soup].

When she has a bit of free time, she very much likes going for a walk with her family to share a moment together. From day to day Juana works in her business selling buns, sweet pastries, fizzy drinks and so on. She works around 8 hours a day as with the fruit of her work she manages to support her husband with the household costs. She believes that her business is going well because she works cheerfully and above all because of her desire to get ahead in life.

Juana is very grateful to the Kiva loan lenders as this is the second time that they have lent her a hand; this time round she will be able to buy supplies to make her sweet goods, namely flour by the bad and merchandise for the Christmas period. In this way she will continue to work to make her biggest dream a reality, that of having a site to sell her products.
