A loan of $4,300 helped a member to purchase pigs and food for animals.

3 De Noviembre (Cuenca) Group's story

The loan group Third of November is composed of 7 women who live around the parish of Cumbe in Cuenca. This place boasts a lot of natural beauty with large mountains that surround it and its beautiful scenery from its green fields of agricultural products and pastures. Its architecture is a mix of antique and modern. The members are people that still maintain the culture and traditions of their hometowns. Their primary sources of income are agriculture, raising animals and commerce. Their primary goal is to get their families ahead.

One of the members is Ana Lourdes who is 25 years old, is married and the fruit of this union is 4 children who are 13, 11, 9 and 7 years old. Her eldest daughter studies in high school and her other children are in school. Her husband works as a mason. The house that they live in is their own. Ana Lourdes spends the majority of her time at home caring for her family, but she also helps her husband cover the expenses of their home because she works raising pigs, guinea pigs and cattle. Along with farming, this is for household consumption as well as for sales. The money from her loan will be used to purchase pigs and food for her animals. Her goal is to raise more animals to grow her business.

In this group: María Rosa Marina, Ana Lucia, Ana Lourdes, Rosario, María De Los Dolores, María Auxiliadora, María Etelvina
