A loan of $600 helped to invest in working capital and stock up on cosmetics, such as blusher, eye shadow, lipstick, body lotion, perfume, eye concealer, make-up remover and eyeliner.

Candida Rosa's story

Cándida is a 50-year old woman, who is single and has one adult son. She's originally from Sauce, located in the north of the region. She's a hard-working and responsible woman, and has a strong willingness of self-improvement. Unfortunately, due to the lack of financial resources, she could not attend university and had to start working when she was very young.

Thanks to her hard work and willingness to get ahead, she works selling cosmetics, such as blusher, eye shadow, lipstick, body lotion, perfume and eye concealer. She sells in the street and taking orders. She spends 10 hours daily working and walks the street every day carrying a weight of 10kg. She offers her products to regular and occasional clients with an aim to obtain better income in the near future.

She plans to invest the loan in working capital and to stock up on cosmetics. Cándida is grateful to Kiva lenders for supporting people with limited resources in poor countries like Nicaragua so that they can have a decent job.
