Gulnaz's Group
In this Group: Gulnaz, Naseem, Shamim, Sameena
Gulnaz, age 40, is a married woman. She is a hardworking and brave mother who is helping her family by providing tailoring services in her community.

Being a mother, she wants to provide better facilities to her children. This is the reason she is doing extraordinary hard work to keep her children smiling.

She has been sewing cloths since the birth of her two children, as she observed that her husband failed to provide all necessities for them. She decided to start tailoring work at home and now she is sewing the clothes of her community. She knows the techniques of tailoring very well. Her regular customers are mostly her neighbors, relatives and local community persons.

She wants to enhance the beauty of her stitching, so she decided to buy a Juki machine. Professional persons use this machine for tailoring because it is speedy and its work is very fine.

She has requested a loan to buy a new Juki sewing machine and some packs of zippers and buttons to meet the increasing demand. Gulnaz is very thankful to Kiva and field partner BRAC Pakistan.

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
