Monrovia Group's story

Fatuma, who is in her mid 40's, is a widow with four children who are still in school. She has been running two types of businesses, food vending and charcoal selling. She has been in these businesses for ten years now. She works from 5:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily and is able to make a good monthly profit.

This will be Fatuma's 4th loan from Tujijenge Tanzania. She used the previous loans to buy different types of food and sacks of charcoal. She also bought bricks for getting ready to start building her house. She has paid back all her loans successfully. She used the profit to pay school fees, cover household expenses and buy more bricks. She will use this loan to buy food stock and sacks of charcoal to use for cooking and selling as well. She dreams of building her own house.

Fatuma will share this loan with her loan group "Monrovia," which has thirteen members who will hold each other accountable for paying back the loans.
