Alma Sixtina's story

Alma is a young woman, 30 years old, graduated from high school in science and letters. She is married with he who, today, is her husband, who is a farmer. She is a mother of two children, the eldest is 10 and, next year will go to fifth grade in the community school. With the company of her husband they farm, involving only themselves. In addition, she works as a volunteer teacher in the kindergarten of her community, which is in front of her house. Right now, they have another daughter who is three months old and they live next to the house of her parents. Her economic income depends on the coffee plants, work that she has been doing for the past five years, learning from her parents and in the company of her husband.

Also, she has participated in the school about coffee cultivation, which was seemed very important to her and she has been putting it to practice already by itself and alongside her husband. Therefore, she can carry out all of the tasks concerned with coffee cultivation. The land that they work is their own, which they acquired thanks to inheritance. The other part was purchased for which they thank God for being lands which produce coffee. They are located 10 minutes from their house, to which they drive in a motorcycle or car. Lately, she has not been involved much in the care and maintenance because of the pregnancy and care of her youngest daughter.

Her goals, plans and dreams are to maintain her coffee plants in excellent conditions and buy more land to grow coffee in a better variety. In this manner, she will assure and give a much better level of life to her family, above all her daughters, whom she wishes to prepare with a university career and wishes that they find good work so that they have other income.

Because of this, these days she has applied for financing, which she will invest in pruning a part of her crop that is old so that she can get more money, fertilize, foliate and pay labor to give maintenance to said crop.
