A loan of $1,650 helped to buy cooking gas packages that she can sell to her community.

Agnes's story

Agnes is a local councilwoman who also supports BRAC in administering loans to members of her community. Agnes was among the local leaders who attended a presentation organized by WANA Solutions on the subject of women franchisees.

Agnes was interested in the franchisee business for two reasons. Firstly, she is interested in earning an extra income so that she can sustain herself financially. Secondly, there are many people in her community who work and are not able to prepare dinner because they do not have time it takes to light up a charcoal stove. She is interested in improving access to clean and thermally efficient energy from liquified petroleum gas in her community.

Agnes is happy that she has been given this opportunity from Kiva to grow herself so that she can be financially self-sufficient.
