Agnes's story

Agnes provides for the household through the sale of used clothing and shoes. Selling of used clothing is a very big market in Ghana as brand-new clothes are too expensive for the economically active poor. Therefore the selling of used clothing has created a market for many women.

Agnes wants to use this loan to buy more bales of used clothing and shoes to increase her inventory. She believes this loan will help her save for her children's future education and also rent a store to sell her goods out of. She is a member of the group called "Nkwa Nsuo" meaning Living Waters. Members agree to guarantee for each other as social collateral to repay the loan.
