A loan of $400 helped to invest in working capital and stock her business buying and selling cosmetics such as blush, eyeshadow, eyeliner, lipstick, perfumes, creams, and eyeliner.

Aereopaquita Nidia's story

Areopaquita is 65 years old, single, and has an adult son. She is from Leon, a place located in the north of the country. Its inhabitants are known for being hard-working and responsible, with a desire to succeed. In her free time she likes to enjoy her family's company and spend quality time with them. Unfortunately, from an early age she has worked to help with the household expenses.

Thanks to her effort and her desire to succeed, she has as her business the sale of cosmetics, such as rouge, eyeshadow, eyebrow pencil, lipsticks, perfumes, creams and eyeliner. She has been working at her business for eight hours a day, selling door to door and by order. The purpose of the loan is to have working capital for the purchase and sale of cosmetics, and to take advantage of the Christmas sales season, so that in the not too distant future she can obtain better income.

Areopaquita is grateful for the help that the Kiva investors offer to low-income people in poor countries such as Nicaragua, so that they can have a decent livelihood.
