Ularbek's story

Ularbek is 39 years old, married, and together with his wife raising three children. Ularbek has a high school education, and as the main source of income for his family Ularbek manages livestock which he began doing 15 years ago with the purchase of livestock for 5,000 Kyrgyztani Somoni. Through hard work Ularbek today has on his farm two dairy cows, two heifers, one calf, five sheep, and also a plot of land measuring 0.48 hectares on which he grows beans, potatoes, and hay. His monthly income is 10,000 Kyrgyzstani Somoni. In order to further develop his farm, Ularbek applied to the Microfinance bank "Bai-Tushum & Partners" for a loan to purchase sheep to increase the population of his livestock. With the income from the loan, Ularbek plans to further invest in augmenting his amount of domesticated animals, and plans to save enough money to purchase more plots of land.
