Alie's story

Alie is 41 years old and married with four children between the ages of 10 months and 18 years. For the past 11 years, he has run a rice store in a busy market area in the Waterloo area. Alie was a civil worker but decided to start his business because he thought it would be more profitable. His main business challenges are transportation and storage.

Alie is requesting a loan through BRAC Sierra Leone to purchase more rice to resell. He says that the extra income from his loan will help increase his business and he hopes to build a house. In the future, Alie would like to become a rice distributor.
