A loan of $1,175 helped to purchase cigarettes, drinks and soap to expand her business.

Adama's story

Meet 33-year-old Adama from Waterloo, western rural area, in Freetown in Sierra Leone. She is married with three children. In 2003, Adama established her retail business. She began her business because she wanted to contribute to taking care of her children. She works at the business from 8:00 a.m. until 5:30 p.m., six days per week. She says that the main challenge to her business is price inflation and a proper business location.

Adama requires a loan in order to purchase cigarettes, drinks and soap to expand her business. She hopes that the extra income from this loan will allow her to change her status of living and increase her business. In the future, Adama plans to open a big provisions store. She thanks you for your support.
