A loan of $3,500 helped a member to buy cell phones.

Sol De Verano Group's story

The communal association "Sol de verano" will start its second cycle with Pro Mujer, as part of the Centro Focal de Panamericana. It has eight members and is led by a management team where Rocío is the president. The businesses that the members run are varied and include: purchase of cell phones, fruit sale, book sale, carpentry work, CD's sale and cakes sale.

The loan will benefit small microentrepreneurs, including Rocío. She says this is her second cycle at Pro Mujer and that she joined after a friend, who is also a member, invited her. She currently sells cell phones, a business that she has learned from her mother, who works with this product.

She plans to use the loan to increase capital (buy cell phones) that she will obtained from traditional tradeshows in the city of El Alto. She will then sell the product in her store. This job allows her to generate resources and cover household expenses. She's single.

When asked about what she likes in Pro Mujer, she says she likes the health coverage that the institution offers.

In this group: Rocio, Yhoselin Celeste, Marietta Masha, Eva Julia , Gabino Ramiro, Maria Magdalena , Martha, Filomena
