A loan of $700 helped to purchase the tools needed for his tractor to cultivate and harvest the land.

Shaip's story

Shaip is a 41-year-old married father of two boys ages 14 and 16 years old. They all live in a small village in the southern part of Kosovo. In that area the unemployment rate is very high and the area’s economy is underdeveloped. In order to support his family he works in construction but mostly in the summer time when the work is abundant due to the good weather and increased demand. Shaip also works in agriculture to supplement his income by planting corn and wheat and working on the land of others.

At this time he is requesting a loan for the first time in order to purchase the tools needed for his tractor to be able to cultivate and harvest the land. He believes that with these tools he will not require the assistance of others with his work since the machine is effective and efficient enough for just him. He is hoping in the future to buy some cows so that he can start selling milk and dairy products in his area as his goal is to have a better life for his children. He appreciates this support and wants to thank all of the Kiva lenders!
