A loan of $575 helped to buy livestock (a bull).

Flavia's story

Flavia is 34 and studied through her third year of secondary education. She is married and the mother of 4 children, they live in the Machacmarca community, Pilcuyo District, Collao-Puno Province.

With her first loan of $110, she bought 3 sheep for future sale. Doña Flavia has proven herself, since at the age of 15, she started selling soft drinks in the Pilcuyo street market. Since she has been living with her husband, she has supported herself by buying and selling sheep. She buys on Tuesdays in Huacullani, and sells on Sundays in the Ilave street market.

With this loan of $575, which she will repay in 4 installments, she will buy a bull for future sale. Her biggest dreams are that her children would become professionals, to buy a house in the city of Puno, and to continue to grow her business by purchasing more livestock for market.
