Erick Antonio
Erick, 27, lives in the Hialeah barrio in Managua. His wife is a stay-home mother, who cares for their two small children.
Erick works as a bus driver for the cooperatives in Managua. He gets up very early each day, because the first trip begins in the early hours of the morning, and makes five trips throughout the day. He has been at this job for ten years, and has been able to build their small home and make a living.

The loan he is requesting will be used to finish an additional room in his home; he needs sand, cement, and stone.

His long-term goal is to own a bus, work his own routes and have a better income to provide for his children's education.

About Housing Loans

Many poor families cannot afford housing that meets their needs. When you make a housing loan on Kiva, you give people access to flexible capital to obtain or improve their homes. Better housing means better health, sanitation, and even educational outcomes for children. A house can also be much more for entrepreneurs who run businesses out of their homes. In this way, housing and small business loans on Kiva share a common purpose: to alleviate poverty and enable families to enjoy more stable lives.
