Modesto, 60, is a friendly man from Puerto Cabezas. He's married and has six children--two youngsters, two teenagers who attend school, and two adults who have their own families.

He's requesting financing to improve the small homes on stilts that he rents at affordable prices so he has an additional income to support his family. He earns a low salary in the institution where he has worked for 20 years as an exterminator (applying chemicals to repel mosquitos). For 16 years he has had a bunkhouse. Nevertheless, with the goal of giving better rental services he built two houses on stilts, each one with its own entrance and latrine.

Modesto's dream is to build 15 homes with concrete skirting and wood skirting.
