Soklai's Group's story

A married mother living in a rural village located in the Damabe district of Kampong Cham province, Soklai is 28 years old and has one kid. Soklai is a farmer who grows cassava. Having been in this business for ten years, she is able to earn about 47,000 KHR per day to meet the family’s needs.

Soklai is a fifth-cycle client with Kiva’s partner, VisionFund. The past loans have helped her improve her livelihood. She is now leading her group to apply for a loan. As the leader, she is going to use her portion to buy fertilizer and pesticides for her cassava and use a portion of it to spend on labor fees. She hopes to grow more cassava so as to sell it for a good price.
