A loan of $375 helped to buy machines to make wafer cookies and ice cream cones.

Yury Cecilia's story

Yury, at 24 years old, is married and a mother of a four year old son. She spends her time tending to her small business which produces wafer cookies and ice cream cones. She learned the trade from her sister who also has a similar small business. She has the help of two employees and works daily from 8am to 10pm. She distributes her products to various ice cream shops and wafer cookie salesmen. This is how she makes income to support her husband with their living expenses. Her drive, determination, and succeeding attitude motivate her to look for new ways that will allow her to keep moving forward. For this reason, she applied for a loan so she can buy machines to make her products. This will help to increase her current capacity so she can produce a greater volume of products and satisfy demand which increases during the Christmas season. This will make greater profits. Yury dreams of strengthening and establishing a good reputation for her business. In the future, she hopes to expand her business by increasing production, creating more job opportunities, and having her own brand that is recognized throughout the country. With this, she will not only improve her quality of life, but also help other people realize their dreams.
