Ana's story

Ana is a cheerful and expressive woman. She is forty years old and is from Puerto Cabezas. She has two children. Twelve years ago she set up a grocery store in her home with financial help from her husband in order to generate her own income while tending to her children. She remembers what she bought with her first investment: a quintal of rice, sugar, beans, two big packs of yogurt drinks, and one big pack of coffee. The profit she has earned has allowed her to acquire more products. She is requesting financing to buy a quintal of rice, beans, sugar, flour, sodas, a barrel of oil, a box of powdered milk, juice, cold cuts, chicken, sausage links, bread, yogurt drinks, cereal, and instant soup mix.

Her dream is to strengthen her business and diversify her products by including cosmetics, fragrances, and accessories for men and women. Among other things, she would also like to open a restaurant serving traditional food from the region at a strategic location in the city of Bilwi.
